God has different ways to test us and letting us experience His grace. And upon showing His grace, that will also be the time His power is being revealed.

Now, we are to talk about the lives of the children of God in the old testament who set examples by getting through the trials of their lives.

1. Joseph

He was being thrown in the well and was sold by his brothers. He also became a slave of a priest in Egypt and was imprisoned. By all means, we could say his life is in trouble. Why? First, he was rejected by his brothers that if we are him, we might grieve toward them. Secondly, even he had faithfully served, he was still accused and jailed.

At the time he was in jail, God didn't allow him to stay there forever. Instead, God moved him out and became powerful in Egypt.

2. Daniel

Another servant of God who went through the trials is Daniel. In his faithfulness to God, he refused to follow the order of the king of Babylon to worship idols. Because of that, he was brought to the lion's den to die, yet God saved Daniel by His grace.

3. Moses

Even Moses, who walked in the desert for 40 years yet was not able to go to the promised land, he still became faithful to God. Throughout his journey, God remained gracious to him.

4. David

The last person we are talking about is David. We all knew that he was anointed to be a king, but he had to experience hardships for long years because Saul treated him like an animal to kill. But God is faithful to Him and saved him from the hand of Saul, then he became a king! The idea that is why he was known as "A man after God's own heart."

Those are some of the testings to every faithful Christians. And even those who accepted and followed Jesus Christ are not exempted in such testings.

Let's have a read to the passage in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 that says,...

Therefore, in order to keep me from being conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, and in difficulties. For when I am weak, I am strong.

Paul also went through the test and trials. And that things are never been pleasant. But we could be amazed to see here his response. He remained humble and confident in his situation entrusting the move of the Lord's grace in his life. He even said in 1 Peter 1:6-7, "All kinds of trials are of great worth." He firmly defined trials as something we could rejoice because that is to prove the genuineness of our faith.

Paul is right by saying that trials meant for our benefits. We might lose hope when difficulties come, but because we are living under God's grace, we are assured of His gracious response to deliver us. For when we are weak, that is when God makes us strong. So rejoice! Be glad that you are going through a lot because when the time you surpassed it all, you will look back to it and will recognize that you made it because of the grace of God!

Just like Paul and all the characters mentioned above, we pray to God that you will also remain faithful to Him most especially in the time of trials. By doing so, you will benefit from God's faithful and gracious power. His grace is truly sufficient.

When you overcome your weakness, be thankful to God. Bring to Him the glory and praises because He alone deserves it.

With great joy, we bless you in Jesus' Name.
