Many people were asking about how God can use them. Most especially those who had recently accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and came to thinking that they want to serve God with their lives. Maybe some of you were wondering, can God really use you? Or can you really become an instrument of God? If so, the question is "HOW", "WHEN", and "WHY" God will choose and use you?
Becoming an instrument of God is not that easy. It takes a lot of time and there'll be a lot of challenges or hindrances before you became one. Depending on the condition of your HEART and FAITH.
First, I'll answer the 3 main questions you may want to know "How", "When", and "Why."

WHY God will choose and use you?
You may want to read first the book of 1 Samuel 16:6-13.
It is where the story of King David starts and how God had chosen him.
You will see in verse 7 why King David was chosen.
"But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the HEART."
It is LOUD and CLEAR that God's preference upon choosing someone to be His INSTRUMENT is the HEART. So the question 'why God will choose and use you?', depends on the condition of your heart. Ask yourself first, "Am I willing to be His instrument?", "Will I give my time and availability to God?", "Am I ready to commit my whole life to God?" If your answer to all of these questions is "YES", but you still don't know how and in what way you will be used by God, then let's talk about 'HOW you will become an instrument of God?'
HOW God will choose and use you?
Let's read first the story of Gideon in the book of Judges 6:8-12.
There, we will see how God called Gideon to be His instrument for a certain mission. However, we could also see how he responded to the angel sent for him. He has complaints and reasons and doubts to God (read the following verses 13, 15, and 17). He had doubts that's why he asked for many signs.
Most of us, were like Gideon, we have many complaints, reasons or excuses, and doubts to God. That is why we find it hard to be used by God. How God will choose and use you if you always refuse His calling?! You might hear Him calling you, but you aren't LISTENING to His VOICE! Or, you are DOUBTING yourself just like Gideon?
In able to be used by God, we must be like David, whose heart is always ready and have a STRONG FAITH with God.
So, for the remaining question about 'When God will choose and use you?', you the answer is in you. It depends on you. If you really want to become an instrument of God, you will decide it yourself. You must be determined to become a servant of God. And upon, deciding, know that you need to condition your mind, heart, and soul.
See the difference between David and Gideon?
David was determined to FIGHT FOR GOD. He doesn't want His God to be mocked and belittle by anybody (Goliath). His heart is PURE in God's eyes. His FAITH in GOD is STRONG and IMMOVABLE. While Gideon has doubts, complaints, and excuses before he fully obeyed God. Yes, he has faith also with God, just like you. But upon hearing God's commands, we should be like David, who OBEYED God without questioning, doubts, excuses and complaints.
When you are already DECIDED to FOLLOW GOD without any NEGATIVE FEELINGS OR THOUGHTS, GO to your leader or pastor or the person-in-charge in your Church, and tell them that you want to be used by God. If you're not sure on to what MINISTRY you want to start, then let them, and SUBMIT to the authority of your Church. Wherever they put you on, as long as you are SERVING GOD and NOT THE PEOPLE around you, then everything should be great.
"In all the work you are given, do the best you can. Work as though you are working for the Lord, not any earthly master."
-Colossians 3:23
Remember:
We are all SERVING ONE GOD, everything and everyone will come to God's judgment.
-2 Corinthians 5:10
